in the 90s, gap stores used to be where music fans would go to hear all the new songs that were breaking before they hit the radio. each store would be given a new monthly playlist that was made exclusively for the store. cue michael bise, an ex gap employee who became obsessed with collecting the playlists to preserve the role gap played in popular culture. we worked with him to reintroduce the world to the iconic gap playlists and help transport people to another era through music.
